Laurie Newman

Laurie Newman has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Laurie currently holds the position of VP Senior Legal Counsel - Corporate Claims at W. R. Berkley Corporation. Prior to this, they worked at Pirelli North America, Inc. as the Director of Product Liability and Risk Management - US, Canada and Mexico, where they were responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks. Laurie also worked at Fabiani Cohen & Hall, LLP, as Of Counsel for a brief period before joining American International Group (AIG). At AIG, they served as the Regional Claims Executive | Claims Regional Vice President - Greater NY Region and was a key resource for management, underwriting, brokers, and clients. Laurie also held the roles of Assistant Vice President, Excess Casualty Claims and Complex Director, Excess Specialty Claims at AIG. Prior to their time at AIG, they worked as Senior Counsel at Franklin Health/PersonalPath.

Laurie Newman has a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from the University at Albany, SUNY. Laurie is also certified as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) by The Institutes and is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Additionally, they hold certifications in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and is an Authorized House Counsel in the State of Connecticut Superior Court. Laurie is also a NYS Property Casualty Broker.
