Lisa Marie Vargas

Lisa Marie Vargas, M.S.W., is an experienced social work professional currently serving as the Director of Foster Care at Together for Youth since July 2021. Previously, Lisa held the role of Director of Social Services at Lutheran Social Services of New York from June 2012 to July 2021, overseeing multiple foster care units and supervising staff and interns. Lisa's earlier experience includes positions such as Foster Care Supervisor and Case Planner, where responsibilities involved managing case loads, compliance with regulations, and supporting foster children and families. Lisa also interned as a Policy Analyst with the Congressional Research Service, contributing to research related to child welfare, and has engaged in various social work internships throughout the career. Lisa holds a Master of Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida.
