Leander Metzger

Leander Metzger is Country Manager, Switzerland for Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. He joined the company in 2016 as Senior Vice President and Head of Property, Engineering Lines and Risk Control. Before he joined BHSI, Leander was Director AFM at FM Insurance Company’s Central European Operation. Leander began his career in 1993 at Victoria Insurance, which today is part of ERGO group. In the following years he has held multiple management and leadership positions, both in Insurance Broker and Insurance companies. Leander holds undergraduate degrees in Insurance Management and Business Administration. Furthermore, he earned a Master Degree (Economics and Finance) from University of Chicago and a Law Degree (LL.M.) from University of Hamburg (Germany). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute in London (UK). His office location is Zurich (Switzerland).
