Carsten Coesfeld

Carsten Coesfeld has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Carsten started their career as an intern at Bertelsmann in 2006 and later worked as an Easter Analyst at Goldman Sachs in 2007. Carsten then interned at Bertelsmann Education China before joining The Boston Consulting Group as a Visiting Associate in 2008.

In 2009, they worked as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs Private Equity before becoming the Executive Assistant to the CEO at Bertelsmann in 2011. Carsten then served as a Member of the Management Board at BFS health finance/Bertelsmann from 2012 to 2015.

From 2016 to 2020, they were the President of Arvato Supply Chain Solutions, a leading international service provider for supply chain management and e-commerce. During this time, they provided practical solutions and services to clients in various industries.

Carsten Coesfeld was appointed as the CEO of DK, the world's leading illustrated publisher and a member of the Penguin Random House division of Bertelsmann, in 2020. Carsten led a team of over 800 colleagues across different countries and produced books in numerous languages for a global audience.

Currently, Carsten Coesfeld holds the position of CEO at Bertelsmann Investments, starting in 2022.

Carsten Coesfeld completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business Administration and Management from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, where they studied from 2006 to 2009. Carsten then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Accounting and Business/Management from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2010 to 2011. Additionally, in 2008, they also briefly attended ESCP Business School to further their studies in Business Administration and Management.
