Pia Hill Foard, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CCP has over 15 years of experience in Human Resources. Pia began their career in 2007 as a Human Resources Manager at HOK, where they were responsible for recruitment, compensation, immigration, employee relations, and learning and development. In 2012, they joined Discovery Communications as a Human Resources Business Partner, consulting on employee relations, succession planning, performance management, and global mobility. In 2015, Pia became the Human Resources Director at GCS | SIGAL, where they led all HR functions and redesigned HR operations to match industry and compliance standards. In 2016, they joined American Institutes for Research as a Senior Human Capital Partner, managing a team of HR Business Partners and collaborating with the recruiting team to meet talent acquisition needs. In 2020, Pia was appointed Senior Human Resources Manager at Cambium Learning Group, serving as a strategic business partner to the division president and providing strategic direction for 600+ employees. Most recently, in 2021, Pia joined Discovery Education as a Human Resources Director, providing subject matter expertise and consulting on people matters, HR functional areas, and change management. Currently, Pia is the Head of Human Resources at BetterLesson, serving as a key executive and partner, leading all HR initiatives, and translating business strategies into forward-thinking and actionable HR plans.

Pia Hill Foard, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CCP has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia (2000), a Master's Degree in Public Health from The George Washington University (2007), and a Certificate in Human Resources Studies from Cornell University ILR School (2009). Additionally, they have obtained a number of certifications, including an Organizational Design Certificate from ODC - Organizational Design Community (2020), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) from WorldatWork (2019), SHRM-SCP from SHRM (2015), and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from HR Certification Institute - HRCI (2009).
