Darren Afford has a strong background in business analysis and financial consulting. Darren started their career at Orlando Wines, where they held various roles as a Debtors Clerk, Financial Analyst, Analyst Programmer, and eventually a Commercial Analyst. In 2006, they joined Australian Central Credit Union as a Financial Analyst. From 2010 to 2012, they worked at Deloitte Australia as a Senior Consultant. Darren then moved on to PKF Chartered Accountants & Business Advisers (Australia), where they served as a Senior Consultant from 2011 to 2012. In 2013, they joined BDO in Australia as a Senior Consultant, primarily focusing on configuring SAP Budgeting, Planning, and Consolidation systems. Finally, since 2014, they have been working at Beyond Bank Australia as a Business Intelligence Business/Systems Analyst.
Darren Afford began their education at Murray Bridge High School from 1982 to 1986. During this time, they did not pursue any formal degrees or fields of study. After completing high school, they went on to attend the University of South Australia from 1987 to 1992. Here, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy, focusing on the field of accounting. Following their undergraduate studies, Darren pursued a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia from 1993 to 1996, specializing in finance and investment. Later, in 1998 to 1999, they furthered their education at Deakin University, where they obtained a Graduate Diploma of Computing, with a focus on information technology.
