Inês Martins

Inês Martins has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Inês started their career as a Project Researcher at Universidade do Minho in 2010, where they conducted research, compiled data, and organized scientific information. Inês then worked as a Project Manager at the same university in 2011, continuing their research and organizational work. In 2012, they joined ISCB as an Administrative Secretary, where they facilitated knowledge exchange and networking for bioinformatics and computational biology students. Additionally, they completed their Master's thesis project at Universidade do Minho in the same year, focusing on research and organizing scientific information.

In 2013, Inês worked as a Biologist Technician at Município de Barcelos before transitioning into the field of data science. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Junior Data Scientist at PepFeed, specializing in web scraping and utilizing APIs to gather product data. Inês then joined Followprice in 2017 as a Data Scientist/Junior Backend Developer, undertaking responsibilities such as data and database maintenance, customer support, service orchestration with AWS and Azure, and developing scraping tools.

In 2018, Inês worked as a Freelancer in the field of information technology, software, and data before joining Beyond as a Software Developer later that year. Inês'swork experience includes skills in data mining, backend development, database management (including MongoDB), Python programming, automated testing, information retrieval, leads generation, customer/user support, QA, manual testing, unit testing, and cloud hosting (AWS and Azure).

Throughout their career, Inês has demonstrated their expertise in research, data analytics, software development, and customer support across various industries.

Inês Martins obtained a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from the Universidade do Minho, graduating in 2012. Inês also completed a mini-course in Japanese and Italian languages at IPCA in 2013. Prior to their Master's degree, Inês graduated with a degree in biology-geology from the Universidade do Minho, completing their studies in 2012. In terms of additional certifications, they have completed various workshops and training programs, including Introduction to Data Science from LinkedIn and Introduction to Public Speaking from Coursera. In 2014, they obtained certificates of completion in various workshops related to wild fruits, domestic mushroom production, aromatic and medicinal plants, and edible flowers. In 2013, they completed a basic course in German language from ForConsulting and beginner courses in Italian and Japanese languages from CIED Barcelos in partnership with IPCA. Recently, Inês has also obtained certifications in Cyber Security and completed training programs in Diversity & Inclusion Essentials and Harassment Prevention from EasyLlama - HR & Compliance Training For Modern Teams. In addition, they were part of the organizing committee for Bioinformatics Open Days at the University of Minho in 2012.
