Thomas Huijskens

Thomas Huijskens has extensive experience in the field of data science and machine learning. Thomas is currently the Chief Data Strategist at BeZero Carbon, where they lead a team of data analysts, engineers, and scientists in building data and machine learning products for the carbon market. Prior to this role, Thomas worked at McKinsey & Company as an Associate Partner, responsible for developing and delivering machine learning products for international client engagements. Thomas also worked at QuantumBlack, where they held various positions including Senior Principal Data Scientist, Principal Data Scientist, Lead Data Scientist, and Data Scientist. In these roles, they led teams in client engagements, business development, and internal R&D projects. Thomas also has experience as a Data Scientist at Tesco PLC, where they built data products and conducted deep-dive research using customer data. Thomas began their career as a Data Analyst at MIcompany, where they supported consultants in retail marketing and insurance projects.

Thomas Huijskens pursued their education with a strong focus on mathematics and statistical science. Thomas started their undergraduate studies in 2010 at Delft University of Technology, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics in 2013. During their time at Delft University, they also had the opportunity to broaden their academic horizon by spending a semester abroad at ETH Zürich in 2012-2013, where they focused on various mathematical subjects.

Driven by their passion for statistical science, Thomas went on to attend the University of Oxford in 2014-2015. Thomas successfully completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Statistical Science, further expanding their knowledge and expertise in this field. Through their educational journey, Thomas has developed a strong foundation in both mathematics and statistical science, enhancing their abilities to analyze data and apply statistical methods.
