Karen Ann Cherkis

Karen Ann Cherkis has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and medical field. Karen Ann currently holds the position of Vice President, Global Scientific Engagement and Medical Affairs at Bicycle Therapeutics. Previously, they worked as the Head of Medical Affairs Strategy & External Engagement at the same company. Prior to this, they served as the Sr. Director of Oncology Search & Evaluation at Bristol Myers Squibb. Karen also has experience with GSK, where they held various roles such as US Medical Affairs Lead for Women's Oncology and Niraparib, as well as Senior Director of US Medical Affairs for Niraparib. Karen Ann has worked at TESARO, Inc. as the Director of Medical Affairs Training, Education and Field Alignment, and as a Medical Science Liaison. Karen also has experience outside of the pharmaceutical industry, having worked as a pre-ballet instructor at the Ballet School of Chapel Hill. Additionally, they have been a Consultant for the Science and Technology Accelerator Fund at the American Heart Association and a Medical Science Liaison at bioTheranostics. Karen Ann began their education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they obtained a PhD in the Curriculum in Genetics and Molecular Biology.

Karen Ann obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between the years 2006 and 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology with a Cellular and Molecular Track from Florida State University from 2003 to 2006.
