Kevin McDonnell

Kevin McDonnell has over 17 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Kevin worked as the Vice President Chemistry at Bicycle Therapeutics from December 2018. Prior to that, they were the Senior Director Chemistry at the same company from September 2017. Kevin also served as the Director of Discovery Chemistry at BIND Therapeutics from September 2008 to August 2016, where they managed a team and initiated a platform approach for targeted nanoparticle discovery. Before that, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Syntonix Pharmaceuticals/Biogen-Idec from March 2003 to August 2008, where they developed novel peptide and small molecule lead candidates and collaborated in the design and synthesis of over 1,700 peptides and peptidomimetics. In 2016, they worked as an Independent Bioorganic Chemistry and Drug Discovery Consultant.

Kevin McDonnell completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry-Biology from the University of New Brunswick from 1991 to 1995. Kevin then pursued a PhD in Chemistry/Biology first at Caltech from 1995 to 1999, and later at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1999 to 2001.
