Nick Keen

Chief Scientific Officer at Bicycle Therapeutics

Dr. Nick Keen is the Chief Scientific Officer at Bicycle Therapeutics. Nick has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having served as Head of Oncology Drug Discovery and Executive Director at Novartis, and Associate Director of Cancer Biology at AstraZeneca. Dr. Keen's experience in the field has helped him to build a strong team at Bicycle Therapeutics that is committed to developing innovative cancer therapies.

Dr. Keen began their career as a Post Doctoral Scientist at the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK. Nick then joined AstraZeneca R&D in Boston, where they were responsible for the delivery of early projects and AstraZeneca's entry into epigenetics in oncology. At AstraZeneca UK, they led biology teams that delivered multiple clinical candidates. In April 2011, Dr. Keen was recruited to Novartis Oncology to lead the small molecule drug discovery group. Nick was promoted to lead the Oncology group in Cambridge in 2012.

Under Dr. Keen's leadership, the Bicycle Therapeutics team is making great progress in developing novel cancer therapies that have the potential to improve the lives of patients around the world.

Nick Keen has a PhD in Virology and Cancer Biology from the University of Cambridge. Nick also has an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.

Nick Keen reports to Kevin Lee, Chief Executive Officer. They work with Zafar Qadir - General Counsel, Lee Kalowski - President and Chief Financial Officer, and Dominic Smethurst - Chief Medical Officer.
