Nikki Whaites

Vice President, International Development at Big Bad Boo Studios

Nikki Whaites has a diverse work experience, with a focus on international development. Nikki is currently the Vice President of International Development at Big Bad Boo Studios since November 2020. Prior to this, Nikki worked at War Child Canada for over 9 years, where they held various roles including Director of International Development and Associate Director of International Programs. Their responsibilities at War Child included overseeing program and business development, strategy development, and leading the organization's expansion into South Sudan and Iraq. Before that, Nikki worked as an International Development Consultant at effect:hope, where they led exploratory work on mobile health technology. Nikki also served as the International Programs Director at Journalists for Human Rights, leading the organization's expansion across sub-Saharan Africa and managing needs assessments and project design work. Earlier in their career, Nikki worked as a Program Developer and Marketing Specialist at REALM Magazine, where they created and managed marketing initiatives.

Nikki Whaites obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Trinity Western University from 1996 to 2000. Nikki also pursued a Master of Science degree at the University of Guelph from 2004 to 2005.
