Jamila Thomas is the SVP of Corporate & Community Engagement at Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star. Jamila previously served as the Presidential Leadership Scholar and the Director of the Racial Equity Office for the Dallas Independent School District.

Jamila is a passionate advocate for social justice and equity. Jamila has dedicated their career to creating policies and programs that foster inclusion and close the achievement gap. Under their leadership, the Dallas ISD Racial Equity Office became a national model for other school districts.

Jamila is a graduate of Harvard University and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Jamila has received numerous awards and recognition for their work in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Jamila Thomas' educational career includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies from Dallas Baptist University, a Certification in Fostering Diversity and Inclusion from Yale School of Management, a Master's Degree in Divinity from University of Chicago, and a BS and MBA in Business Administration from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Jamila also has Certifications from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace, from Yale School of Management in Fostering Diversity and Inclusion, and from Cultural Intelligence Center in Cultural Intelligence CQ.

Jamila Thomas works with Katie Porter - Director of Signature Events, Elizabeth Byrd - Program Director, and Andrew Young - VP of Advancement. and Sonal Vallabh - Community Event Manager reports to Jamila Thomas. Their manager is Jenny Harper, Dallas Market President.
