Mauricio Dal Fabbro

Sr. Technical Artist at Big Time Studios

Mauricio Dal Fabbro has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of game development and digital art. Mauricio started their career in 2008 as a 3D artist at Zoom Desarrollos Digitales S.A. and worked there until 2014. During this time, they gained experience in 3D modeling.

In 2014, they ventured into freelance game development, where they directed and developed the Rex Odyssey videogame. Mauricio also had a short-term role as an art director for The Hum Abductions at Rothenberg Ventures.

From 2015 to 2016, Mauricio worked as an art director and lead 3D modeler for Totwise and Brainhold Games. Their responsibilities included managing the art team and ensuring quality and aesthetic standards were maintained.

In 2016, they joined Saibot Studios as a character rigger and 3D animator, focusing on character rigging and animation using Unreal Engine 4.

In 2017, Mauricio worked as an art director at Barbacube and Rocketo Punch. At Barbacube, they worked on projects like Rex Odyssey and The Other Side, where they served as a lead 3D modeler, animator, and VFX artist. At Rocketo Punch, they held the role of art director until 2020.

In 2019, they joined Decentraland as a lead technical artist, where they worked on designing the avatar and wearables system for the web-based 3D metaverse. Mauricio also served as a lead 3D modeler for assets and packs.

Currently, Mauricio is working as a senior technical artist at Playbigtime Studios, where they utilize their skills in texture creation, shader creation, landscape authoring, level design, lighting, and other technical aspects of game development using tools like Substance Designer and UE4.

Mauricio Dal Fabbro attended Nueva Escuela de Diseño y Comunicación from 2002 to 2004. During this time, they obtained a degree in Diseñador Gráfico Publicitario, specializing in Diseño gráfico.
