Hong Liu

Hong Liu began their work experience in 2002 as a Research Associate in Protein Chemistry at Genentech. They then held various roles at Genentech, including Formulation Scientist, Formulation and Analytical Team Leader, and Process Development CMC Team Leader. In 2018, they became the Head of Formulation and Drug Product Processing at NGM Biopharmaceuticals. They then worked as an Associate Director in Formulation and Drug Product at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. from 2019 to 2021. Currently, they are the Biologics Process Development and Manufacturing Leader at Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute.

Hong Liu has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry from China Agricultural University. They also hold a Master of Science (M.S.) degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island.
