Nathanael Coates

Nathanael Coates has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Nathanael is currently working as a Data Management Consultant at Shell, where their primary focus is on Metadata Management and Data Cataloguing. Nathanael is responsible for developing Shell's Asset Model, Metamodel, and Operating Model. Nathanael collaborates with both business and technical teams to identify use-cases and perform data audits as part of the Enterprise Data Catalogue Centre of Excellence.

Prior to their current role, Nathanael worked as a Senior Data Governance Consultant at Billigence, where they engaged and supported organizations in their Data Governance strategy and delivery. At RMIT University, they served as the Lead Data Management Analyst, leading the development and implementation of the university's Data Management Strategy. Nathanael also held roles in information management, data governance, and risk management at RMIT University.

At Southern Housing Group, Nathanael worked as a GDPR Business Analyst, leading a change program to ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulation. Nathanael also worked as an Information Security Analyst and a Service Improvement Analyst at Catalyst Housing Limited, where they focused on cybersecurity, customer experience reporting, and service performance analysis.

Additionally, Nathanael has entrepreneurial experience as the Director of CJN Design, where they managed e-commerce, distribution, and retail of craft products from South East Asia in the UK market. Nathanael handled marketing, sales, and wholesale management for small to medium-sized businesses.

Nathanael Coates completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography with a year of Computer Science at The University of Sheffield in 2011. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Collibra Ranger Certification and Collibra Solution Architect Certification from Collibra in December 2022 and June 2022 respectively. Nathanael also completed the AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials & AWS Technical Essentials courses from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2021 and the Snowflake Fundamentals course from Snowflake in the same month. In September 2021, they obtained the PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation & Practitioner certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Finally, they acquired the Cambridge English Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) (QCF) from Cambridge Assessment English in April 2014.
