Vincent Carignan, ing. has a diverse work experience in the engineering and construction industry. Vincent started their career as a Stagiaire en surveillance de chantiers at BPR in 2009. After that, they worked as a Technicien en génie civil at SNC-Lavalin from 2010 to 2011, where they were responsible for site supervision, materials control, and inspection of structures. Vincent then returned to SNC-Lavalin as a Stagiaire in the Division Routes et ponts in 2012, where they gained further experience in project planning, budgeting, and inspection.
In 2013, Vincent became the Président of the Association des étudiants de l'École de technologie supérieure, managing a budget and advocating for student rights. Vincent also worked as a Chargé de laboratoire et de travaux pratiques at École de technologie supérieure, where they taught construction project planning and control.
Vincent's experience continued with a research internship at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, where they worked on projects related to collaboration and macro-BIM adoption. Vincent then joined Groupe BIM du Québec as an Agent de recherche, conducting a study on the deployment of BIM tools and practices in Quebec.
Currently, Vincent is employed at Virtual Construction and Technology BIM One Inc. Vincent started as a BIM Specialist & Business Analyst in 2017, supporting project deliveries and the deployment of custom software. In 2019, they took on the role of Major Account Manager, providing consulting services to architects and engineers for better project coordination and cost control. Recently, they have been promoted to the position of Director of Operations.
Throughout their career, Vincent has demonstrated their expertise in project management, construction supervision, BIM implementation, and team leadership.
Vincent Carignan, ing. has an extensive education history in the field of engineering. Vincent started their academic journey at College Ahuntsic from 2008 to 2010, where they obtained a Diplôme d'études collégiales en génie civil in Civil Engineering Technology/Technician.
Vincent then pursued their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Construction Engineering at École de technologie supérieure from 2011 to 2015. Vincent further advanced their knowledge and expertise by completing a Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Construction Engineering at the same institution from 2015 to 2017.
In addition to their formal education, Vincent Carignan has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and professional development. Vincent completed Formations de prévention pour les plates-formes élévatrices and Formation de prévention pour le travail en espaces clos from ASP Construction in September 2011 and May 2010, respectively. Vincent also acquired a certification in Gestion des impacts des travaux routiers sur la circulation (STC-201) in May 2010. Vincent's dedication to continuous learning led him to receive the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute in January 2019. Most recently, in May 2022, they earned the CanBIM CP certification from CanBIM is Building Transformations.
