Andrew Last

Andrew Last is currently the EVP & COO at Bio-Rad Laboratories. Prior to this, they were the Chief Commercial Officer at Berkeley Lights, Inc. from January 2018 to April 2019. Andrew was responsible for leading global commercial growth strategy and its execution for Berkeley Lights' innovative and disruptive new single cell platform. Andrew provided leadership covering sales, business development, marketing and product management, service, support and operations. Andrew was also responsible for building a world class commercial organization to drive rapid growth of Berkeley Lights breakthrough platform that is significantly reducing the timelines, costs and outputs across all cell focused workflows in life science, therapeutic development and the future of cell therapy.

Prior to joining Berkeley Lights, Andrew was the Chief Operating Officer at Intrexon Corporation from August 2016 to December 2017. At Intrexon, they were responsible for building solutions to challenging issues across fields as diverse as medicine, fuel, agriculture, nutrition, personal care, chemicals, and manufacturing, forging a sustainable path forward for current and future generations.

After Andrew Last completed their BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Leicester, they went on to do their MSc in Bio-Aeronautics from Cranfield University. Andrew then did their PhD in Agrochemicals from Cranfield University.

They work with Dara Grantham Wright - EVP & Clinical Diagnostics Group President, Simon May - EVP, Life Science Group, and Ajit Ramalingam - SVP, Chief Accounting Officer. Their manager is Norman Schwartz, Chairman, President & CEO .
