Bob Doust

Sr. Vice President R&d, Clinical Diagnostics Group at Bio-Rad Laboratories

Bob Doust has a strong background in research and development, with a focus in the diagnostics and life sciences industries. Bob is currently serving as the Sr. Vice President R&D for the Clinical Diagnostics Group at Bio-Rad Laboratories, a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Vice President R&D for the Core Diagnostics division at Bio-Rad Laboratories from February 2020 to April 2022.

Before joining Bio-Rad Laboratories, Bob held various leadership roles at BD, starting as the Program Manager in 2003 and progressing to Senior Manufacturing Engineer in 2000. Bob then transitioned into roles such as Director of Strategic Planning and Director of Strategic Integration Management, where they oversaw post-acquisition integration and the development and implementation of long-term operational strategies. In 2017, they became the Vice President of Research and Development at BD before leaving in 2020 to join Bio-Rad Laboratories.

Prior to their work at BD, Bob worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Litens Automotive from 1997 to 2000. Overall, Bob Doust brings extensive experience and expertise in research and development, strategic planning, and operational management to their current role at Bio-Rad Laboratories.

Bob Doust (he/him) has a diverse education history. In 1992, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Biotechnology from the University of Toronto. Continuing their education, they pursued an MBA in General Management and Finance at Santa Clara University from 2001 to 2005. In 2010, Bob attended The Wharton School for Executive Education where they studied Strategic Planning. Finally, in 2019, they participated in the Bio Design Strategic Innovation program at Stanford University as part of their continuous pursuit of knowledge and skills development.
