Marisa Donnelly

Marisa Donnelly, PhD, is a seasoned epidemiologist with expertise in infectious disease surveillance and public health. Currently serving as an Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Initiative Fellow at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and as a Senior Principal Epidemiologist at Biobot Analytics, Marisa has a strong background in wastewater-based epidemiology, focusing on diseases such as SARS-CoV-2 and mpox virus. Previous roles include Senior Epidemiologist for the California Department of Public Health and Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Marisa's academic credentials include a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of California, Davis, and a BS in Environmental Systems from UC San Diego, alongside experience in cross-national research and climate health impacts.
