Position Summary
This position is a member of a team that supports R&D, Operations, and Quality Control. The primary responsibility is dedicated to the handling and/or manufacturing of synthetic template products and sub-assemblies. Tasks will focus on molecular biology procedures (serial dilutions, PCR, transcription, etc.) and operating equipment in the laboratory, as well as documentation as defined in established protocols, batch records, and work instruction documents. Work is assigned and is generally routine in nature. The ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. The work is collaborative and requires the ability to effectively and respectfully communicate and coordinate with peers, supervisors, and members from other departments.
Key skills required:
Knowledge of laboratory mathematics
Knowledge and familiarity with pipetting
Basic understanding of laboratory inventory principles
Ability to quickly learn and master the use of various laboratory equipment
Knowledge of commonly used molecular biology concepts, practices, and procedures, including PCR
Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and other interactions
Attention to detail, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Able to stay organized and have attention to detail
Ability to receive direct instruction on routine work
Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
May be required to obtain and maintain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance
Training and Education
Requires an associate degree or working toward a degree in a scientific field of study, or equivalent.
