Rik Shorten

Rik Shorten has worked in the media industry since 2003. Rik began their career as a VFX Producer/Supervisor at GVFX, followed by a role as a Post/VFX Producer at Rainmaker LP- Vancouver. In 2004, they worked as a VFX Supervisor at CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and VFX Producer/Supervisor at Zoic Studios. In 2011, they were the Creative Director at Simplicity Media LLC and VFX Supervisor at Dilated Pixels. From 2012 to 2014, they were the VFX Supervisor at Drawn by the Light VFX. Most recently, they were the Director of Business Development and CCO at BioflightVR, where they were responsible for Creative Design and Production with a med-tech focus in VR platform design.

Rik Shorten attended Ryerson University from 1990 to 1993, earning a BAA in Radio & Television Arts with a field of study in Film & TV/New Media. Rik also attended Ryerson Polytechnic University during the same time period, earning a B.A.A in Radio & Television Arts with a field of study in Film.
