Matt Helms

Matt Helms has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as Managing Director at BioGenerator Ventures since September 2022. Prior to this, they were the Business Owner of Ella & Ollie Popcorn and Ella Properties from May 2017. Matt also served as the Chief Commercial Officer at NewLeaf Symbiotics, Inc. from January 2020 to July 2022, and earlier as Vice President, Commercial from February 2019 to January 2020. Matt held various roles at Monsanto Company, including Vice President positions from 2013 to 2018. Before that, they worked at Bayer Crop Science and Novartis in different capacities. Matt began their career as a Sales Representative at Novartis in June 1996, and later served as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte from February 1999 to February 2001. Overall, Matt has demonstrated extensive experience in entrepreneurship, commercial leadership, and strategic management within the agriculture and biotechnology sectors.

Matt Helms attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1992 to 1996, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. Matt later pursued an Executive M.B.A. at Washington University in St. Louis from 2007 to 2008.
