Mats Nilsson

Mats Nilsson has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Mats began their career at AB Leo, working as a Synthesis Worker from October 1978 to August 1983. Mats then joined Pharmacia AB/Pharmacia & Upjohn as a Team Manager from June 1994 to April 1998, where they were involved in preclinical and clinical development of protein drugs for cancer treatment. Mats also developed and utilized immunoassays and FPLC methods for drug analysis. Mats then joined Active Biotech as a Team Manager and Research Biochemist from April 1998 to July 2016, where they focused on developing candidate drugs, analyzing biomarkers, and potency testing of vaccines. Mats continued in a similar role at Lund University as a Senior Scientist from March 2016 to December 2016, conducting proteomic studies using LC-MS/MS. Mats later worked as a Scientist at Wieslab from October 2017 to August 2018, before joining BioInvent International AB as a Senior Analytical Engineer in February 2019.

Mats Nilsson obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biotechnology from The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology from the same institution, studying from 1985 to 1989. Mats also attended Tycho Braheskolan in Helsingborg, Sweden, where they pursued a four-year Technology Line with a Chemical Engineering Branch. This was their upper secondary education, which they completed from 1983 to 1985, focusing on food chemistry.
