Deise Goncalves, Ph.D.

Deise Goncalves, Ph.D., is a Bioinformatics Scientist at BioIVT since July 2022, with previous experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Michigan from January 2020 to July 2022, where Deise served as the lead scientist and project manager for an NSF-funded project. Prior to this role, Deise was a Research Facilitator at the Marine Biological Laboratory from July 2018 to May 2022, focusing on teaching bioinformatics during summer workshops. Deise earned a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology, Genomics, and Bioinformatics from the University of Texas at Austin between August 2013 and November 2019, and holds a Master of Science in Botany/Plant Biology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, completed in 2013.
