Barbara Brand

Barbara Brand has a long and varied work experience. Barbara started as a Spanish Language Instructor at Language World in 2000, and then moved on to become a Special Education Assistant at San Diego City Schools in 2003. In 2006, they took on the role of Audio Visual Technician at San Diego City College, followed by the role of Getty Multicultural Intern at the Museum of Latin American Art in 2007. In 2009, they became a LA County Arts Intern at Arts and Services for Disabled, and then a Junior Web Designer at SM Sold Real Estate Solutions in 2010. In 2011, they joined Oblong Industries Inc. as Lead Designer - New Product Development, where they were part of a hardware engineering team of 4 that developed and launched a new-to-market hand-held remote control and streamlined spatial tracking system. This product update achieved a 10x increase in customer adoption and a 10x decrease in both BOM cost and system installation time. In 2020, they became a Hardware Product Manager at BiologyWorks, Inc., and most recently in 2022, they took on the role of Senior Product Manager, Emerging Devices at Amazon Lab126.

Barbara Brand attended California State University, Long Beach from 2007 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Design and Marketing. Prior to that, they attended San Diego City College from 2004 to 2006, where they earned an Associate of Arts (AA).
