Arvind Kumar (Mahajan)

Arvind Kumar (Mahajan) has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of microbiology and animal health. Arvind is currently serving as the VP Research at BiomEdit, where they collaborate with Ginkgo Bioworks to develop innovative probiotics and microbial medicines for animal health. Prior to this, they worked as a Leader at MBRD Service Company, LLC, where they managed high impact research in multiple countries and led multicultural teams.

Arvind Kumar's previous roles include Senior Director of Research and Exploratory Development in Global Vaccines, Biologics, and Nutritionals at Elanco. Arvind also served as a Research Advisor and Leader in Discovery Biology Research and Bacteriology for Elanco's Global Vaccine and Biologics division. Before joining Elanco, they held positions as Director of Research and Development at Lohmann Animal Health GmbH and as Director of Research Centre Hannover at Lohmann Animal Health.

Earlier in their career, Arvind Kumar worked as a Group Leader and Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Microbiology and Food Safety at the Roslin Institute & Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, UK. Following this, they pursued further studies at the same institution and earned a Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc) degree in Veterinary Microbiology from 1993 to 1995.

To expand their knowledge and expertise, Arvind enrolled at the Imperial College School of Medicine in London, UK. There, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Immunology from 1995 to 1996. Motivated to further excel in their field, Arvind pursued a Doctorate degree at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh in the UK.
