Krishnakumar Vasudevan, PhD has a comprehensive background in scientific research and development. Krishnakumar is currently employed as a Senior Scientist at BiomEdit since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Scientist at Berkeley Lab from February 2021 to October 2022.

In this role, they co-led a team and collaborated with scientists from different labs to establish tools for studying chytrids, focusing on cell motility, cell cycle, and pathogenesis. Krishnakumar utilized techniques such as genetic engineering, including CRISPR/Cas9, qPCR, and RNA sequencing.

Before Stanford, Dr. Vasudevan was a Graduate Research Assistant in the Lab of Dr. Jacek Gaertig at the University of Georgia from August 2007 to December 2014. Krishnakumar actively contributed to researching and identifying proteins required for ciliary biogenesis and function. Additionally, they served as a Teaching Assistant during this time.

Dr. Vasudevan gained early research experience through a Bachelor thesis project at the National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis from December 2006 to May 2007. Prior to that, they completed an internship at the same institute from May 2006 to August 2006. Krishnakumar also interned at the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation in April 2005.

Krishnakumar Vasudevan, PhD completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Biotechnology from Jeppiaar Engineering College, from the years 2003 to 2007. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell/Cellular Biology and Histology at The University of Georgia, graduating in the years 2014.
