Elias Fayad

Elias Fayad has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Elias currently holds the position of Vice President, Systems R&D - Specific Diagnostics at bioMérieux since 2022. Prior to this, from 2017 to 2022, they served as Vice President, Software Engineering at Specific Diagnostics, where they led the design and development of a commercial medical instrument for rapid Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing. Elias played a crucial role in defining the project plan, creating a robust system architecture, and implementing core functionality. Elias also explored integration opportunities with strategic partners and achieved significant cost savings through workflow optimization.

Before joining Specific Diagnostics, Elias Fayad worked at Pacific Biosciences from 2008 to 2017. During their tenure, they held various roles such as Director of Software Engineering, Engineer.Senior Manager, Engineer.Manager, and Staff Engineer in the Instrument Software Engineering R&D department. Elias'sresponsibilities included driving the design and development of instrument control software, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring an intuitive user interface.

From 2006 to 2008, Elias Fayad worked at Applied Biosystems / Genetic Analysis R&D as a Staff Software Engineer. Elias played a lead role in developing the user interface for next-generation genetic analysis software, oversaw a team of engineers, and designed scalable UI frameworks.

In the early years of their career, Elias Fayad worked at NetMap Analytics as a Software Architect, where they led the analysis, design, and development of Java frameworks and applications. Elias also supervised source code exchange between different office locations and played a key role in defining interface requirements.

Prior to that, they worked at Alta Analytics as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and developed a presentation toolkit and led the development of a Java-based link analysis visualization application.

Elias Fayad's career began as a Consultant at Claremont Technology Group.

Throughout their career, Elias Fayad has demonstrated expertise in software engineering, system architecture, project planning, user interface design, and cross-functional collaboration.

Elias Fayad completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University from 1988 to 1992. Elias then pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from The Ohio State University from 1992 to 1994.
