Maarten Brand

Maarten Brand has had a varied and successful career in the engineering and research field. In 2021, they became the Director of R&D and Systems Engineering at Bionaut Labs. From 2016 to 2021, they worked at BD, where they held the roles of Senior Manager Concept & Technology Development and Core Team Leader - Project Manager. From 2006 to 2016, they worked at Philips, where they held the roles of Technical Lead, Senior Scientist, Project Leader - Scientist, and Research Intern, Corporate Research China. During their time as Senior Scientist, they developed clinical proof-points of new therapy by clinical prototype development and clinical trials, presented clinical results to management and secured funding to commercialize therapy, identified and established relationships with clinical Key Opinion Leaders, organized and moderated multiple roundtables with physicians at conferences, developed clinical trial protocols to determine effectiveness and optimal therapy parameters, designed and developed prototypes to test novel therapy in clinical setting, executed clinical tests and led data interpretation, including statistical analysis.

Maarten Brand obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering from TU Delft in 2004 and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from TU Delft in 2007. In 2015, they obtained a PMP certification from PMI. Additionally, they hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
