Mitchell Han

Senior Scientist at BIOND Solutions

Mitchell Han has worked in the field of science since 2010. In 2010, they were a Master Student Research Project at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam/VU University Amsterdam, where they studied molecular determinants in CXCR7 regulation. The following year, they were a Visiting Master Student Research Project at the University of Toronto, where they worked on method development for lipid and RNA co-extraction, as well as oxidosqualene accumulation after Erg7 inhibition in S. From 2012 to 2014, they were a PhD Graduate Student at Hubrecht Institute, Developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research, where they investigated the importance of cadherin cell adhesion mechanotransduction machinery during zebrafish tissue morphogenesis. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at INM-Leibniz Institute for New Materials, where they developed novel biomaterial interfaces to control the mechanical microenvironment of cells and tissues. In 2022, they began working as a Senior Scientist at Bi/ond.

Mitchell Han attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2006 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Mitchell then returned to VU Amsterdam from 2009 to 2012 to earn a Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. In 2011, they attended the University of Toronto, but did not receive a degree. Finally, they attended Utrecht University from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, and Mechanobiology.
