Esa Hallinen

Esa Hallinen serves as the Director of Operations at Bioretec Ltd. since August 2023. Prior to this role, Esa held the position of R&D Project Manager at Arctic Biomaterials Oy from August 2018 to August 2023, focusing on plastic material development projects in a cross-functional environment. Esa's extensive experience includes managing a production site at Wipak as Plant Manager from February 2007 to July 2018, overseeing a staff of 55 and managing a budget of up to €30 million with an emphasis on safety and continuous improvement. Previous roles encompass Project Leader for packaging and medical device development at Novartis, Development Manager and Senior Scientist at Schering Oy, and R&D Engineer at Ab Rani Plast Oy, along with a Graduate Student Researcher role at Neste Oy Chemicals. Esa holds a Master’s Degree in Materials Science, Plastics Technology, and Industrial Management from Tampere University of Technology.
