Olof Nord

Olof Nord has a diverse work experience spanning a variety of roles and industries. Olof currently serves as the Executive Vice President Business Development at Biotage since August 2020.

Prior to that, they worked at Abbott from 2016 to 2020, holding multiple roles including Commercial Director for Abbott's Cardiometabolic Business Unit in Europe, Russia, CIS, Central Asia, and Turkey. Olof was also the Commercial Director for Europe, Middle East & Africa - Informatics & Digitalization at Abbott. Additionally, they served as the Director Marketing Nordic and Acting CEO/VD Denmark during their time at Abbott.

Before joining Abbott, Olof Nord worked as the Chief Operating Officer/Vice VD at Gynius AB in 2015. Olof also held various positions at Analyticon Biotechnologies AG from 2011 to 2015, including Director Corporate Development and Business Area Manager Europe.

In 2010, Nord worked at SwedenBIO as the Senior Manager Business & Finance and Project Manager. Olof was responsible for managing projects and initiatives for the benefit of the Life Science industry in Sweden.

Nord started their career at Becton Dickinson in 2009, where they worked as a Product Champion and Customer Solutions Coordinator for BD Biosciences and BD Diagnostics.

Olof also has experience working at Affibody AB as a Project Manager for Sales and Commercialization of Affibody molecules, as well as a Scientist.

Nord obtained their PhD from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and also founded Affibody AB in 1998.

Olof Nord has a PhD in Biotechnology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, which they obtained between 1999 and 2004. Prior to that, they completed their MSc in Chemical Engineering from the same institute, during the period 1994 to 1998.
