Robert Matthews

Robert Matthews has extensive work experience in revenue and billing management.

Robert is currently employed at Birdeye as the Director of Revenue and Billing since 2022.

Before that, they worked at Rev as the Director of Revenue and Billing from 2021 to 2022. During their time at Rev, they led the implementation of the Billing Platform Project and worked closely with the Engineering team to transition from the in-house CRM/Billing system.

Prior to Rev, Robert worked at Talend as the Director of Revenue from 2019 to 2021. Robert also held the position of Senior Revenue Manager at Talend from 2014 to 2019. During their tenure, they played a leading role in the IPO process and successfully implemented the NetSuite Advanced Revenue Module. Robert also facilitated the transition from ASC 605 to ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.

Before Talend, they were employed at Ooyala as the Senior Revenue and Billing Manager from 2012 to 2014. At Ooyala, they collaborated with Sales Operations and Product Managers to implement Z-Quoting functionality and new Pricing Methodology. Robert also performed BESP analysis for year-end audits.

Robert's work experience also includes a role at SolarCity as the Senior Revenue Manager from 2011 to 2012. Robert managed Accounts Receivable, Collections, and Revenue Accounting departments and implemented controls for accurate revenue recognition. Robert played a crucial role in the S-1 Filing process and ensured accurate revenue recognition for Professional Services Contracts.

Furthermore, they have worked at Advent Software as the Senior Manager of Order Operations from 2004 to 2011. In this role, they managed Order Management, Accounts Receivable, Production, and Document Control. Robert implemented automated processes and training to improve efficiency and reduce error rates.

Additionally, they have worked at Liberating Technologies as the Services Revenue Manager Assistant from 2002 to 2004, and at Adobe as the Royalty Revenue Accountant from 1998 to 2000.
