Rick Cooper

Rick Cooper is a seasoned academic professional with extensive experience in cognitive science and higher education. Serving as the Dean of Faculty and Professor of Cognitive Science at Birkbeck, University of London since October 1995, Rick has held various roles including Assistant Dean, Head of Department, Reader, and Lecturer. Additionally, Rick was the Executive Editor of Cognitive Science: A Multidisciplinary Journal from January 2015 to December 2020. Prior to Birkbeck, Rick worked as a Research Fellow at the Department of Psychology, University College London. Rick holds a PhD in Cognitive Science from The University of Edinburgh and a B.Math. (Hons) in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Newcastle.
