Vera Silver

Vera Silver is the current Chief Information Officer at Bitvore. Prior to their current position, they served as the Director at Barclays from October 2018 to January 2022. In their role at Barclays, Vera partnered with senior business leaders to enable the strategies that would streamline manual processes, rationalize platforms, and drive digital innovation in order to achieve operational excellence and increase productivity. Vera was focused on API-driven development and accelerating cloud adoption.

At Barclays, Vera led change through innovation with senior business leaders to streamline and digitize manual processes with a focus on workflow automation and data quality controls. Vera built a global, multi-functional team practicing agile, standardized processes for Tech Ops, Dev Ops, and automated testing. Vera was also responsible for reducing manual controls by implementing continuous monitoring and data problem management processes. Vera developed data strategies that were actionable and sustainable while also enabling data to be treated as a business asset.

In their previous role, Vera upskilled existing team members by creating a culture of learning and promoting targeted trainings, peer programming, and hackathons. Vera also drove technology modernization and transformation from legacy monolithic systems to API-based scalable and reusable platforms deployed on the cloud.

Vera Silver holds a BA in Computer Science from Queens College. Vera is also certified from the FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) in Series 99.
