Rev. James Lawrence Wofford

Community Associate at BLACK BELT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Rev. James Lawrence Wofford possesses extensive experience in leadership and community service across various organizations. Currently serving as the Alabama State Director for Political Affairs at the Alabama State Conference NAACP since June 2023, Rev. Wofford also holds the position of Chairman of the Board for Christian Services for Children of Alabama and President of The Democracy Project. Additionally, Rev. Wofford has played significant roles as President of the Selma Dallas County Branch NAACP and as a Community Associate and Co Program Officer at the Black Belt Community Foundation. Formerly the Vice Chairman of the Selma Housing Authority and a member of the Alabama State Democratic Executive Committee, Rev. Wofford has a background in pastoral leadership at Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church. Educational qualifications include studies at Concordia Theological Seminary and Moravian University.
