Natalia Ruiz Morato

Community Engagement Associate at HLAB

Natalia Ruiz Morato currently serves as a Community Engagement Associate at the United Nations University since December 2023. Previously, Natalia held the position of Postdoctoral Humboldt Fellow at The University of Göttingen from July 2020 to December 2023, where research focused on agrarian rights in Colombia and involved advising on parliamentary debates. Other significant roles include Residential Scholar Fellow at The Wilson Center, Visiting Professor at Semester At Sea and Beijing Foreign Studies University, and educational and legal consultant at the Office of Inspector General of Colombia. Natalia also contributed as a Senior Professor at Universidad de La Salle and a legal consultant for various governmental projects in Bogotá, targeted at improving human rights for ethnic communities. Educational qualifications include a PhD in international studies and Master of Arts in international development from Korea University, along with a Doctorate in Law from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
