Douglas Dobyns has extensive experience in engineering, technology, product development, and manufacturing. Douglas is currently serving as the Vice President of Engineering at Black Diamond Advanced Technology (BDATech) since February 2021. Prior to this, they were the Chief Executive Officer at ControlX Gaming from January 2019 to February 2021. From April 2005 to December 2018, Douglas held the position of Head of Technology at FreeLinc Technologies Inc., where they developed the first near-field magnetic induction communication headset for two-way radios. Douglas oversaw all areas of product development, including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software development, and production. Douglas also played a key role in developing FreeLinc's Intellectual Property Portfolio. Before joining FreeLinc, they worked as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Flowserve Corporation from April 2000 to April 2005. In this role, they focused on intrinsically safe, ultra-low power, current driven systems, digital communication over power line protocols, and precision control in extreme environments. Douglas led development projects for custom control applications for major corporations such as Bayer Chemical, Shell Oil, Dow Chemical, and DuPont.
Douglas Dobyns pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering at Brigham Young University. Douglas also pursued a degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Utah, with a focus on Control Systems and Internet.
