Michael Pogany

Michael Pogany is an experienced leader in the electric utility sector, currently serving as the General Manager of Electric Operations for Black Hills Energy since July 2020, overseeing operations in South Dakota. Prior to this role, Pogany held the position of Director of Operations for Black Hills Energy, managing electric utility operations for 73,000 customers across South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana, as well as serving as Operations Manager in Rapid City. Pogany's extensive background includes roles as Environmental Manager and Environmental Compliance Manager at Black Hills Corporation, focusing on compliance and permitting for electric and natural gas utilities. Additionally, Pogany worked as a Natural Resources Project Engineer with the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources, specializing in NDPES permits and stormwater inspections.
