Konstantin Taganov

Konstantin Taganov has extensive work experience in the field of biology and drug discovery. Konstantin is currently working at Blacksmith Medicines, starting in January 2022 in a role related to Discovery Biology. Before joining Blacksmith Medicines, they worked at Forge Therapeutics, Inc. from June 2015 to December 2021. At Forge Therapeutics, they held the position of Senior Principal Scientist from August 2018 to December 2021 and Principal Scientist from June 2015 to August 2018. Prior to their time at Forge Therapeutics, Konstantin worked at Merck Millipore from January 2012 to June 2015 as a Senior Scientist. From 2008 to 2011, they worked at Regulus Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist in the field of drug discovery. Konstantin'searliest work experience includes being a Postdoctoral Fellow at CalTech - Laboratory of Dr. Baltimore from 2004 to 2008, where they conducted research under the guidance of Dr. Baltimore, a Nobel Prize Laureate in Physiology or Medicine.

Konstantin Taganov began their education at Russian State Medical University in Moscow, Russia, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in biochemistry and an MD. Konstantin then pursued further studies at the Fox Chase Cancer Center and Russian State Medical University Graduate Program in Philadelphia, PA, where they completed a PhD in Molecular Biology and Virology from 1999 to 2004. In 2010, Konstantin attended The Leadership Edge Inc for a Leadership course. Konstantin continued their education at UC San Diego Extended Studies in 2011, focusing on Biostatistics. In 2012, they enrolled at the University of California, Davis, specializing in Bioinformatics: NGS and Galaxy. Konstantin's most recent educational pursuit is at UC San Diego, where they are studying Project Management.
