Chang Liu

Chang Liu, Ph.D. is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in gene therapy, gene editing, and translational research. Currently serving as Associate Director of Discovery Biology and Technology Development at Sarepta Therapeutics since September 2021, Chang Liu previously held roles including Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist in Gene Editing. Prior experience includes work as a Scientist in Gene Therapy at Precision BioSciences, Inc., where focus areas encompassed human liver diseases and CNS neurodegenerative disorders. Chang Liu has a robust research background from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, concentrating on immune cell functions in neurological disorders. Additional roles include Research Fellow at BD, Associate Faculty Member at F1000, and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where advanced studies in Developmental Biology and Genetics were completed, culminating in a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Stem Cell Biology.
