Ira Blumenthal is an accomplished professional with a vast background in consulting and the food-service industry. Currently serving as President of Co-Opportunities, Inc. since January 1990, Ira has provided counsel to numerous Fortune 100 companies, including The Coca-Cola Company and Walmart. As Executive Director of the Independent Broker Alliance since May 2015, Ira manages alliance strategies and industry relations for over 31 food-service sales agencies. Additionally, Ira holds board positions with BlazeSports America and Janie's Fund, focusing on Paralympic sports and support for at-risk girls, respectively. Ira also co-founded the Restaurant Industry Executive Council and has held leadership roles at various prestigious organizations throughout a distinguished career. Education was attained at the University of Maryland.

Born in 1993 as the legacy organization of the 1996 Paralympic Games in Atlanta, BlazeSports is a non-profit organization and the longest running legacy program of any Paralympic Games. At BlazeSports, we’re driven by a desire to provide all children and adults with physical disabilities the chance to play sports and live healthy, active lives. Our mission is to change the lives of children and adults with physical disabilities through adaptive sport and recreation. Our Goals To provide sport, recreation and physical activity opportunities for people with physical disability in sport comparable to those provided non-disabled, nationally and internationally. To foster character development, productive lives, healthy lifestyles and self-sufficiency for people with physical disability through sport. To use cutting-edge training, distance learning opportunities, and fresh ideas as a vehicle to build the capacity of local service providers. To build positive perceptions of people with physical disability. To promote peace building, human rights and equity through sport.
