The role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced US Corporate Taxation Manager to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of US corporate tax compliance and planning, ensuring adherence to tax regulations and laws, and providing strategic tax planning advice to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
1.    Tax Compliance:
•    Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax filings and payments.
•    Prepare detailed tax provisions for inclusion in financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP
•    Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
•    Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
•    Maintain detailed records of tax liabilities and correspondence with US Tax authorities, HMRC.

2.    Tax Planning and Advisory:
•    Provide guidance on tax implications of business activities and transactions.
•    Advise on tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
•    Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate implications to management.

3.    Financial Reporting:
•    Ensure compliance with tax accounting standards.
•    Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate tax-related financial reporting.
•    Prepare and analyse tax provisions for financial statements.

4.    Risk Management:
•    Identify and mitigate tax risks associated with business operations.
•    Implement and maintain robust tax compliance processes and controls.
•    Conduct regular tax compliance audits to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.

5.    Leadership and Team Management:
•    Lead and mentor the tax compliance team.
•    Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
•    Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants as needed.

6.    Project Management:
•    Manage special tax projects, including mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
•    Ensure timely completion and effective implementation of tax-related projects.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role.


Qualifications:
•    Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, EA, ACA, ACCA, CTA, CMA, or relevant tax qualification is preferred.
•    Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in US tax compliance and management, preferably within a corporate environment or a major accounting firm. Additional experience of UK tax compliance and management will be preferred.

•    Technical Skills:
•    Strong technical knowledge of US corporate tax legislation and accounting standards. Slight upper hand on UK Tax legislation would be preferred.
•    Proficiency in tax compliance software and ERP systems.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
