Alison Becker

Alison Becker has a diverse work experience with a focus on community services and support. Alison has worked as the Head of Operational Services and Development at Blind Veterans UK since October 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Regional Manager, East Community Services at the same organization from February 2017 to October 2022. Alison also worked as the Transition Manager at Blind Veterans UK from July 2016 to March 2017.

Before joining Blind Veterans UK, Alison worked at The Salvation Army as the Divisional Director for Community Services from May 2015 to July 2016. In this role, they oversaw various community programs and was responsible for the supervision and development of managers and volunteers.

Alison's experience also includes roles at Borough of Poole, where they served as the Head of Parenting Aspirations and Skills from April 2014 to May 2015. Alison led a team and volunteers in delivering services supporting families and spearheaded continuous improvement activities. Alison also worked as the Children's Centre Services Coordinator from August 2011 to April 2014, leading the coordination and delivery of targeted services and managing a team of Family Outreach Workers. Alison's earlier experience includes working as a Family Outreach Worker.

Alison's career started at The Cambian Group, where they worked as an Assistant Clinical Psychologist from June 2007 to August 2008, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and delivering training to staff members. Alison later served as a Senior Learning Support Worker from September 2005 to June 2007, leading a team and providing care to children with Autism and complex needs.

Alison Becker studied Psychology at the University of Winchester from 2002 to 2005, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Later, in 2013-2014, they attended IOE - UCL's Faculty of Education and Society for the National Professional Qualification in Integrated Centre Leadership.
