Abdeslem El Idrissi

Dr Abdeslem El Idrissi is a professor of Developmental and Cognitive Neuroscience at the City University of New York. He has been at CUNY since 2003. Prior to joining CUNY, he worked at the New York State Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities in the department of Human Genetics. Dr El Idrissi has served as a chair of Neurosciences at CUNY graduate School and a Chair of Biology. He also directed the Medical Technology program at CSI/CUNY and Co-directed the Physician Assistant Program at the same institution. Currently he is the vice-president of the International Taurine Society. His teaching and research interest are focused on developmental disorders and the role environmental toxins play in the etiology of autism spectrum disorders. Dr El Idrissi has authored many scientific articles, chapters and books. He is a recipient of funding from the NIH, DOD and NSF as well as other foundations. Dr El Idrissi directs the CUNY-CHU medical internship program where students from American Universities intern at Center Hospitalier Universitaire of Fes. Dr El Idrissi is co-chair of the Health and Biomedical Sciences Group of The American Moroccan Competencies Network (AMCN), a board member of the High Council of Moroccan-American Scholars and Academics (HC-MASA). Dr El Idrissi is also a Founder and a Board member of the Academy of Greatness and Excellence school system in New Jersey. In 2018, Dr. El Idrissi was appointed by the board of directors of the “Foundation de Gestion du Centre Mohamed VI des Handicapés” as a resource and a spokesperson in all negotiations conducted in the United States of America (USA).
