Steve Buckley's work experience includes various leadership roles in the engineering and spectroscopic industry. Steve currently serves as the President of Block Engineering and is a Member of the Board of Advisors at Nullspace, Inc. Previously, they held positions such as Vice President/General Manager at Ocean Insight, Interim Vice President of APAC Sales and Marketing at Ocean Insight, and Vice President of Product Development and Engineering at Ocean Insight. Steve also co-founded Lightspeed Microscopy, Inc., where they served as a Director, and founded Flash Photonics, Inc., where they were the CEO. Additionally, Steve served as the Director of Instrument Systems at Planetary Resources, Inc. and the Director of Market Development - Spectroscopy at TSI. Before that, they co-founded and served as the President of Photon Machines, Inc. Steve's academic experience includes being an Affiliate Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington, an Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego, and serving as the Associate Director of the UCSD Center for Energy Research. Their expertise lies in energy, spectroscopy, and product development.
Steve Buckley has a diverse education history. Starting with their undergraduate studies, they attended Princeton University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Following this, they enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, to earn a Ph.D. Their doctoral research focused on Energy Systems and Combustion, as well as Public Health.
Continuing their educational journey, in 2021, Steve began pursuing an Executive Masters of Business Administration at the Quantic School of Business and Technology. The degree program emphasizes Strategy and Finance and is expected to be completed in 2022.
Furthermore, Steve obtained a certification known as Series 65 from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in February 2023, enhancing their expertise in financial matters.
