Javahir Askari serves as the UK Public Policy Manager at Block, having previously worked as a Policy Manager for Digital Regulation at techUK, where efforts focused on deepfakes, synthetic media, AI, online safety, and online fraud. Prior roles include Policy Research & Events Producer at New Statesman, where significant policy events were produced, and Delivery Associate at the European Commission, specializing in the implications of Brexit. Additional experience includes working as a Research Analysis and Policy Assistant at Nesta, Legal and Policy Assistant at the Afghanistan and Central Asian Association, and Political Risk Analyst at Hozint. Javahir holds an MA in Human Rights from UCL, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law School, and a BA in Politics and International Relations from the University of Nottingham.
