Luca Masud

Luca Masud has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries.

Luca started their career as a Product Designer at Politecnico di Milano, where they worked on developing an e-learning product for children.

Luca then became a Freelance Designer, working on various projects until 2011. During this time, they also founded DensityDesign Research Lab, where they applied design thinking to data visualization and diagrammatic design.

Luca later joined R/GA as a Senior Information Designer and Associate Creative Director, working on projects for clients such as Nike, Samsung, and PwC.

In 2017, they joined Spotify as a Product Design Lead, focusing on insights and experimentation. Luca co-authored the Product Area strategy and mentored other designers.

Luca then moved on to Squarespace, where they held multiple positions, including Head of Marketing Tools and Senior Manager of Product Design. Luca oversaw design and product management functions, defined product strategies, and led hiring and management efforts.

Most recently, Luca joined Instagram as the Senior Manager of Product Design. Luca led design leadership for Instagram Camera and managed a team responsible for creation and editing flows. Luca also co-led a cross-functional team and played a key role in driving company-wide processes.

Currently, Luca is the Head of Product Design for Tidal at Block, where they are responsible for leading product design efforts.

Throughout their career, Luca has showcased strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for creating impactful and innovative products.

Luca Masud has a strong educational background in the field of Communication Design. Luca completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano from 2002 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Communication Design at the same institution from 2005 to 2009. Prior to their university education, Luca attended Liceo Scientifico Tecnologico E. Fermi in Desio, where they obtained their Diploma Liceo Scientifico between 1997 and 2002. Though the field of study for their diploma is not specified, it can be assumed to relate to scientific and technological subjects based on the school's name and focus.
