Jim Woida, CPP, PSP, CPD has over 30 years of experience in the field of safety and security. Jim is currently the Head of Global Security & Risk at Bloom Energy, where they oversee safety operations, intellectual property protection, and facility fortification. Prior to their current role, Jim held various positions at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, including Critical Infrastructure Protection Expert & Compliance Manager and Senior Physical Security Specialist. Jim also served as a Regional Training Manager at Allied Universal, where they developed and managed safety and security training programs for thousands of employees. Jim's previous experience includes roles at Security Industry Specialists, where they were the Safety & Security Manager for eBay Global Security, and the City of Sunnyvale, where they served as a Public Safety Officer. Jim began their career as a Communications Dispatcher at the County of Santa Clara. Throughout their career, Jim has demonstrated a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and driving continuous improvement in safety and security operations.
Jim Woida, CPP, PSP, CPD has a Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency Services Management from Union Institute & University, which they obtained in 2017. Jim also holds a Certificate in Homeland Security from the same institution, earned in 2017. In 1990, Jim completed a Post Basic Certificate in Post Basic Police Academy from Evergreen Valley College. Prior to that, in 1988-1990, they earned an Associate of Science degree in Fire Science/Firefighting from Mission College. Jim also has a Firefighter 1 Certificate from Sunnyvale Fire Academy, obtained in 1990. In terms of additional certifications, Jim has obtained numerous qualifications, including the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) ® designation from ASIS International in 2015, the Physical Security Professional (PSP) designation from ASIS International in 2022, and the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Professional Designation (CPD) from the National Institute of Crime Prevention in 2020, among others.
